I've heard that when people are in love, they never want to be parted. When they leave each other they feel a pain in their chest, and the excitement for their next meeting keeps them going through life's difficulties.
I think I'm falling for my Savior.
There are so many beautiful love poems/stories/movies. You know, the ones that take your breath away, leave tears in your eyes and a warm feeling in your stomach. I'm convinced that out of all of them none come close to equaling the beauty of the love story that Christ demonstrated through His life, death and crazy love. He went through more pain and suffering for us than anyone has ever gone through. He loved with purer love then I could dream of being capable of through it all, and He did it with humility. And that is why we celebrate Christmas.
He thought us worth it.
Do not be afraid to feel.

Haha, sometimes I feel like my life is the definition of chaos..lol. So glad I have a savior that guarantees peace in any situation if things start to fall apart when I try to do them on my own. Which happens....quite a lot actually, haha.
Random realizations of the day:
1. Potato soup fixes most any problem, haha. It's easy to make and tastes a.m.a.z.i.n.g.
2. Socks are the amazingest invention ever.
3. I miss summer.
4. Two of my amazing friends are getting married in a week!!!!!!! :)
5. Because of #4 I get to see my very best friends very soon! #excited.
6. It feels so amazing to be getting over the flu. It's like I'm a whole new person :) thank God!
7. I'm so ready for Christmas break!!
Merry Christmas everyone!!! :)

Testimony: [noun] evidence given by a wittness.
God has been so amazing to me, and He is calling me to tell my story. So here it is; my testimony.
Looking back I can see God's fingerprints all over my life, especially at a time when I was incredibly unstable. But at that time I didn't see Him at all. I didn't know what I wanted my life to look like, and I didn't know why I didn't know. I was unhappy and confused. Thankfully God protected me and shielded me from evil, even at a point when I wasn't looking to Him for guidance, certainly not protection. But God knew exactly what I needed when I had no idea. He was so gentle with me I didn't really realize He was there; I just knew that something in me was changing. Then I started to develop a thirst for something. It was so powerful, and I finally knew what I wanted, I finally knew what I believed my life could be like and even though I wasn't 100 % sure that it could really happen I wanted this so badly: that God would come into my life and rule in it.
Maybe that sounds simple. Believe me, it did not seem at all simple to me! But I wanted it so desperately that I begged Him for it; I told Him that I knew there would be hardships and trials, but if He was willing to lead me, I desired more than anything else to follow.
That part was neat, I have to admit, but none of it would have mattered if it had stopped there. First came the tough part, I'll call it "getting used to Christian life". Haha, I'll just say, there were a lot of tears involved :). I still didn't really understand what was happening to me, or why that earnest desperate prayer didn't instantly change me or really make my life more enjoyable. I stopped trying to figure it out after a while, lived life and continued to earnestly desire something deeper than what I had been living; I also started to understand better what it was that God actually wanted of me. Slowly things changed about me. The most noticeable thing was that my priorities completely changed. Because Christ had become first in my life everything else was affected by that.
And then, wow the most glorious thing happened. I had joy, and I had an anchor to keep me firm in that joy. It wasn't just a passing thing like every other pleasure that I had experienced, it lasted. It's not like there haven't been ups and downs, but a lasting peace is in my spirit. And I no longer feel completely lost, drifting around without a real purpose. And the longer I participate in the Church of Christ the more sure I become of His truth.
Anyway, I'm not even close to being done with the process of sanctification, I hope and pray that the changes that have been made in me so far are miniscule compared to the plans that God has for me.
My whole purpose for writing this is this: It is so worth it. It didn't happen overnight, and it wasn't easy, but everything that God told me was true. All of His promises came through, and the peace that reigns in my heart is better than anything and everything that I had desired for and expected when I asked God to take over.
He took a struggling girl who just wanted to be noticed, and transformed her into someone who takes the greatest joy in being His child, His child that He has called beautiful. He took an insecure "Christian kid" and turned her into a follower of Christ. He has my heart forever and for that I am eternally in the most beautiful, transforming debt. Because I did nothing to earn His love.
Maybe this won't affect anyone, haha maybe no one will even read it all the way through, but it's something that I had to put out there. And if there is someone reading this that is going through the same type of thing maybe this can be encouraging :)
I have to say, I would never gotten this far without my family and friends, and many, many other people that encouraged me without even knowing it. I am so thankful for you all, you changed my life.
Most of all I am thankful to You, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You continue to amaze me with your righteousness and crazy, radical Love, Mercy and gentleness towards me.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!!!

Grace
So this is what it feels like to wake up to God's grace and love. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
The thing that I keep coming back to when I think of Christ; His love for me and His relationship with me is that there is someone outside of myself that can bring me to my real home, my true life, my loving Father. And just knowing that...it's all that I need to keep going. Because I've always known that I could never get anywhere good or fulfilling on my own. Thankfully, Jesus took care of all of that. How truly beautiful.

Music
Today I am thankful for music, instruments and artists that compose songs.
There is something about making music...I can't describe. But I will definitely say that when I play instruments, especially if it's a song that I've composed; it doesn't feel like I'm making it, it feels like it's a part of me. Something that flows out of my soul, through my fingers and into the instrument. It's not just music, it's a language that expresses my emotions. And it takes me far away from this world and all its troubles. Music can give me a deep, empty but strangely beautiful hole in my chest, or it can make me want to dance all over the house with a big cheesy grin on my face.
I'm praying for a chance to learn better how to play, we'll see what God's plans are :)
*Almost Thanksgiving!*

So, because it's almost Thanksgiving and because I want to become more aware of the wonderful things God does for me I'm going to be posting (maybe daily?) about things I am thankful for until after Thanksgiving. I've already started this on Facebook...but then I deleted my account so I'll continue on here :)
First of all...my family is like...awesome. I can honestly talk to them about *anything* and if there is a problem then it's treated like everyone's problem, I don't have to bear things on my own, I can always, always count on my parents/siblings not just to love me, but to support me, advise me and challenge me. Because my life has always been this way and is normal for me I keep forgetting what an enormous and rare gift this is.
Plus, I have the best friends that I could imagine having. When I was little I always hoped for friends like you read about in stories. Well, as amazing as the friendship I wished for was, it didn't even come close to what I have now. Honestly, I could never have even hoped for such a wonderful gift. That is what is amazing about God. We have desires..we hope for them with all we have. We spend hours waiting for them, praying for them, dreaming about them. And he surprises us with things better than we could have ever dreamed up. If we will just make the step of faith to let Him know we would give up anything for Him, he gives everything for us.

[Randomness]
So, this is going to be random, but that's just me, haha.
First of all, I love that my brother's hearts are tender. Because of my selfishness I sometimes get wrongfully angry or upset with them, and every time little tears brim in their eyes, and it touches my heart. This world needs more tender guys, and I love seeing their tender spirits just as much as I hate it when I get upset with them. It makes me think about all the kids that have been brought up constantly having their feelings ignored and crushed, so they decide not to feel anymore. And it breaks my heart.
I saw a pair of gorgeous boots a while ago and started talking about them...quite a bit, I wanted them so badly. Before my brother went to TN he gave me the money to by them and he was sooo sweet. Of course, I couldn't take it, and felt kind of bad for talking about them so much, but it made me smile and feel loved for all my deficiencies.
Another thing I have been thinking about is my amazing friends. And how they drop me random e-mails to ask how I'm doing, how to pray for me, and sometimes just to tell me they care. I reminds me how blessed I am, and seriously makes my day that much better every time without fail. I can't help but feel joyful with these kind of friends.
So basically, I'm so grateful that my parents helped me pick me friends wisely. I would be somewhere completely different from where I am otherwise. They have changed me so much, and I can't help but shutter to think about what I might have done if I had had the wrong kind of influence growing up.
Truly, "Sheltered is good" it's something that parents do when they truly care. I'm so thankful that they cared, and still do.

Questions
I wander around at night and look at the stars. I wish they could answer all these questions...
Questions seem to scream at me from every side, it makes me confused. No longer are my thoughts rational there is too much blur, it seems like it would be impossible to collect my thoughts right now so I let them free. How strange they are, like something ancient that has been hidden over the ages and is restless to be uncovered. I never realized that such strange and fearsome thoughts had been stored up inside me. They tire me out after awhile and I make them go away. I'm back to the questions again, they start to make me angry at myself, I don't want to let them in, but I do. I realize suddenly that they are important, they teach me that I do not know everything. Blocking them out would be dangerous, I might start to doubt their existence, and then where would we be? I could trick myself into thinking that I have all the answers...
My mind has gotten tired from fighting itself and making little sense, as I lay down and sleep starts to overcome me I hear a whisper. It says "My child, you don't need the answers. Little one, trust that I have them." The thought brings me peace, I let it into my heart.
My last thoughts are crucial. I realize that I have uncovered a small part of the beauty in Christianity by acknowledging the reality of questions, while being at peace with not having most of the answers.
Someday they will be answered....

So, I discovered something the other day. See, I've been struggling with not feeling good enough (for lack of a better way to say it). "Why?" I've asked myself over and over again, "Why do I not seem close to God throughout the day??" I also feel like not much that comes out of my mouth has any depth really. I have not been able to understand it for a really long time, and I have been praying about it constantly. And last night I realized that the only time I seem to be close to God is when I'm with Him, talking to Him; thinking about Him. It's almost the only time I really feel, the only time things seem to make sense. Hmm, maybe that's why the Bible says: "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." because the only time that I am able to truly live is when I am leaning on Him for life. And I have come to acknowledge the reality of the importance of living for Him every second because I can so easily put Him at a distance while I live my life for myself, and ignore the way that I am commanded to act as a Christian. I have to constantly seek Him, it has to become a lifestyle. Meanwhile, it's pretty awesome to be looking forward with anticipation to the next time I give time to Him as I learn to be with Him all the time, not just in "special times". I am aware that this does not happen overnight, but it's exciting to lean on Jesus for progress.
The road is bumpy, but oh how excellent and fulfilling is life with Christ.

So, you should watch this, it's pretty awesome: http://180movie.com/
(There are graphic images of the holocaust)
Also, unfortunately I do not appear to have very much time for blogging, so I probably won't be posting much. But maybe I will. Haha.
Blogging for just a short while served it's purpose. I have been thinking more positively and been more aware of the many blessings that Christ has bestowed upon me.

Courage
"We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things
'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise"
My test today is courage, to pray for blessings in whatever shape and size they might come. To pray for growth even if it causes great pain. To even pray for blessings for my family, though it might hurt. The beautiful part of this is to rest, knowing His blessings truly are *blessings*. Knowing He can bring me through it, and purify my soul.
Praying for the Bhem's today, if anyone is reading this please take a few moments to pray for them too.
Lord, please give the Behm's rest, they have been heavily tested. Open Your arms wide with comfort I pray. I pray You would show Your love for them daily and give them strength to carry on, every moment of the day, through every trial, the little and the big. I thank you so much for them.

35. Seeing old friends.
It's sure one of the joys of life. I just got to hang out with someone I've known for forever it seems. Haven't seen him for years. We didn't have to talk, we just worked together on a project and it seemed like old times.
You know that feeling, when it seems like you really could start flying? I usually get it when I am in awe of God's creation. Yesterday I climbed up to the very tip top of a tall tree. Everything looks different from up there!! I listened to Christian music on my I-pod and sang along. The wind was really blowing the tree around and..it was amazing. I feel so blessed to have the time and the opportunity to do things like that.
I'm starting to think that I have Lyme; it's been tough. I try, try, *try* to keep up a joyful attitude when my mind gets all confused and everything seems louder than it should and my brain freaks out. It's hard, and I feel terrible when I lose control of myself. I tell myself that I'll do better next time, but...will I?
God never said "obey my commands when it's easy".

33. Front porch schoolwork.
Ok, so my parents decided a long time ago that they were going to go against the flow and home-school us...which basically means I can do school wherever I want to :D and I can do it however early in the morning I want to too and get it over with early which leaves time for other things...like blogging and potty training my little siblings. Speaking of potty training, I'm very proud to announce that my little bro just made his first poopy in the pot today!!
34. Seasons.
Life goes in seasons. We just had a busy season. Now it's time for a season of school :D
For my Mom it's been a season of suffering; a very long season. We're praying that that season would end and she could move on to a new season.
Faith.
A beautiful verse for persevering through hard seasons:
"I implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."
Ephesians 4

Expectations.
I constantly need to remind myself to not compare myself to the world. Once I start that it's all downhill from there. My thought process starts to be like this: "Oh. My. Word. I don't remember *ever* screaming at any of my siblings or my parents, most everybody does that every day." instead of: "God never gets frustrated with me; that's how I'm suppose to be towards all the people I interact with."
Sometimes we need to hear the things that fill us with shame. Like: "Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
Read that again. Think about it.
Those are God's expectations.
"Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
"Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again."
" But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."
Why do I so easily forget the nature of God, and apply it to myself? I mean, He actually does all this stuff, it's not just empty talk. And this is what I am working toward too.
And understand that all this isn't meant to depress you all or anything. Because I know I look at these verses and go "Wow...heh...um, help?" but God wants this of us because it will make our life soooo much better. Yep. And He's constantly rooting for us and helping us along. He's not there just waiting for us to mess up so He can tell us how often we disappoint Him.
Always press forward <3

Whoa
My Savior is a master at creating beautiful things. The stars tonight...
They keep on burning faithfully through the years with the help of the Creator. He loves me enough to die for me. Surely I can someday shine as bright as the stars....

32. Encouragement.
So, I have quite a few friends, some that barely know me or don't know me at all, that give me sooo much encouragement! Wow, I'm not sure I could make it without you guys! I could name a ton of people right off the bat that have encouraged me so much to keep on keeping on! I'm sure they don't even realize it at the time, but that's when it encourages me most. I don't know how to thank them, but I sure thank God for them a lot.
33. Union
One of the things that amazes me the most about Christianity is the way that Christians can interact. There are so many people that I disagree with on a huge number of levels and yet we can sit down, talk for hours and get along perfectly well; I know because I've done it a couple time. It wouldn't be possible except we have at least this one thing in common: our love for Christ. Yeah, we disagree (and I'm talking BIG disagreements) but I feel no tension or awkwardness around them, and I have pretty great relationships with some of them.
Bible verse: "Woe to them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!"
This has definitely helped me to be able to compromise with others, and let go of my pride (Although pride never really goes away...I really despise pride, it always jumps up and pulls you down when you least expect it.).
Sisters are wonderful things.

30. New experiences.
Sometimes we get stuck in our way of doing things. And sometimes we need to realize that even if that way isn't necessarily bad, God has a much, much better way. Harder? Probably, but His plans, though hard, are unimaginably rewarding.
Lesson for today: Listen for His guidance.
31. Scary situations.
At the time they don't seem that great, but they are huge learning opportunities. And I know I would have never gotten to where I am today if not for the scary times when I had a distinct choice to make: Either freak out and get totally stressed, or trust God completely to do what He does.
His Promise: "in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
It's a huge challenge for me to remember in all cases that no matter what happens everything is going to be fine He's got it all worked out. And He loves me! What a beautiful thought.

27. Something to look forward to.
Truly the best is yet to come. That's what kept Jesus going when everyone was against Him. (Hebrews 12)
Every day in the Father's hand is a good one <3
28. Early morning talks with my Savior.
They are so amazing. And doing it regularly is a habit I need to develop.
29. Poopy diapers.
There's got to be *some* good in them. And seriously it's going to be so weird when Levi is all potty trained. It'll be a huuuuuge milestone since our family has had at least one kid in diapers for 17 years! I think that mommies get huge crowns in heaven for all the poopy diapers that they change...seriously. Maybe sisters do too :D

24. Baby hugs.
My new cousin from Korea (cutest thing in the world unfortunately) gives the best hugs. And his laugh; soo adorable. Can't get over it. Weider's hugs are awesome too, but he's not a baby any more! He's already three years old! Can't believe how fast our family is growing up. Yikes.
25. Hope for tomorrow.
Sometimes I just get beat into the ground. But you know what keeps me going? Hope for a new day with new forgiveness and new opportunity. And God is the only one who can guarantee that newness for every day.
26. Random e-mails of encouragement from people I respect and love.
They make my week. And they always come at the right time. The hard e-mails always come at the right time too actually. It's amazing how God cares so much about those types of things.

Beauty
We all have our own perception of beauty. But ever since the fall our ability to understand and rightly judge what is beautiful has been corrupted. We look at the most popular girl in school and think "My, she's gorgeous" and we strive to have a good friendship with her while the one who is not so attractive is given no attention, most people just forget to acknowledge that she is there. And all because our sight has been tainted. Have you ever considered that what we think of as ugly might appear breathtakingly beautiful to God? It's not that He just looks past the ugliness, He sees it as gorgeous. All of His sheep are beautiful for Him to look upon. His sight is clear while ours is faded. We are so blind.

Koinonia retreat :)
Last weekend we had a group of 20 Christians from a college in KC come out to our place, we about five of them! I had a great time getting to know people though and hearing the group leaders speak. It was encouraging and refreshing. And after the group left the people that we already knew stayed for two days. They are amazing, and I'm so thankful for them and to them. We (Justin, Nathaniel, Preston, John, Shaina and I) were planning to go rock climbing but we couldn't find a spot so we went on a adventure! We climbed trees, watched the sunset, and then we walked up a hill and spun around as fast as we could :) it felt like flying, haha, if you've never done it you should. Justin just about tossed his cookies though!
Then we stayed up really late watching some hilarious home videos. Hehehehe
Today Nathaniel, Preston and Shaina and I went on another adventure and came across a pond so we jumped took our shoes off, jumped in and swan around. It was really cold though! Wow. Then we decided that we wanted a raft so we walked about a forth of a mile and came across some dry logs. We picked them up and carried them back (it was actually quite a workout!) and tried our best to make them float! Haha, we got all the way across the pond and then did it again. It was so much fun and so relaxing. And of course all of this was out in the middle of nowhere. I don't think we even saw any houses the whole time. And we certainly didn't see any other people.
God is good, all the time.
Praying for my friend Hannah who has been diagnosed with Lupus, also praying for Erin, for grace to make it through these days, for a servants spirit, for guidance in my life. Mostly praying for God to fulfill the plans that He has for me in my life and for courage to go wherever He takes me.

20. Being healthy
Wow, I mean what a blessing. And right now I'm not sure how long that blessing will last which is making me appreciate it more. But I can still climb trees, go horseback riding, swimming in the pond and most everything that my friends are able to do!
21. Conviction of my heart.
Conviction is hard sometimes, but oh so necessary for a wonderful relationship with the Lord!
Up till now I've been giving thanks to God for mostly the things I see as good, but I will definitely be including the unexplained things too. Only God knows what is best for us.
So, 22. Missing my friends greatly.
23. Feeling like I'm already stretched out and realizing there's still more work than ever.
I'm so tired. And there is so much work to be done. I know it's for a reason though, and I'm determined to stick it out.
Praising God for life, with it's pleasures and sorrows He gives us true life. He wants us to enjoy this life! Let His words encourage you today!

16. God's Mercy
I was going to wait to do this one until I had more time, but I don't really see that happening sooo, mercy. Wow, I can't even begin to explain what an undeserved blessing God's mercy is, but it has gotten me through so many things.
17. The promise of a new beginning.
Every time I mess up, every time I feel like I want to stop trying because of how badly things are looking, God reminds me that He gives new grace for every mistake. We can start from the beginning every time with more determination and more love for Him.
18. Wind.
Haha, one of my friends actually told me that my personality reminded her of "A strong wind" (??) but wind actually does something funny to me. I've been in forty mph winds and somehow I feel so...I don't know, I can't really explain it but it's almost like I feel closer to God. Maybe it's the unseen power that characterizes wind, I'm not sure.
19. Sisters.
I mean, wow. What would I do without Shaina???? She is like a rock that's always there, anchoring me and keeping me steady. She encourages me, challenges me, strengthens me, laughs with me, and balances me out. I can't imagine what my life would be if God hadn't blessed our family with her. She's just...amazing.

14. My family
I could write about my wonderful family for ages. But...I don't have time for that right now :) Seriously though, my family is amazing. Sure we have our downs, and we don't get everything right by any means, but that's one of the beautiful things about humans. We all love each other very much and try our best to work together.
15. Gorgeous Kansas sunsets.
The other day...wow. We were driving to our grandparents house and I saw the sunset and had to drive back to the house and get my (amazingly gifted) sister to take a picture of the gorgeous sunset. And it's not uncommon to see those out here. They are sooooo beautiful and they take my breath away. I just realized today how blessed I am to live out on a farm. The experiences that I have every day are things normal people would remember for their whole lives. And I just look at it as part of life. I drive past the huge, open fields with no civilization in sight and don't even think about it. I find myself in the middle of 50+ cows and it's every day life. I walk down to the spring at our house and dip my feet in it, and forget that I did it the next day. I mount my beautiful horse and go running through the fields and it doesn't make my heart go up in my stomach or make me want to ride up the tallest hill and sing God's glory anymore. I need to stop and think about how blessed I am more often.

11. Beauty.
Beauty is something that speaks to us all in some way. I think every good thing has some beauty of it's own.And I think God made beauty to be appreciated, and sometimes we need to stop and just take in the beauty of life. Trying to do that today.
12.Times of relaxation.
Seriously, wow. My life has been a whirlwind, and in some ways that's a good thing. But we aren't made to be constantly running. And it is so important that God made a special day of rest for us! I think that humans naturally are always looking for the next thing to accomplish, the next task to undertake; but God wants us to just rest in Him and not worry about getting all that other stuff done. "There is always enough time in the day to do what God wants you to do" -Unknown.
13. Music.
It does something to me. Singing automatically gives me peace; when I play instruments it's like I don't even try to make something, it just comes naturally. I could spend hours at the piano without thinking about much at all and just taking in the music.

9. Rain
To read my favorite novel and listen to the rain patter against the window is truly a blessing. That hasn't happened for a while though. We are actually in the middle of a drought, which means pumping water every day for the cattle and watering the garden. But God is always faithful to pull us through the times without rain. He is so good to us.
10. A daddy that works ever so hard to provide for his family.
I haven't seen him in a while actually, he's on a long business trip and I really miss him. My daddy is amazing though. He works into the early morning hours, gives encouragement and guidance to his children and tries so hard to find the time to have long talks with us. I really have no idea what I would do without him.

Life
7. Life
It is truly amazing. And I have been thinking about the idea that God made us not only to live our lives for Him, but to fully enjoy doing it. Here's the thing: we, all of us, are so abundantly blessed, and we can either choose to realize that and take full advantage of God's blessings, or we can deny it and live our lives in depression and hate. Yes, even Christians deny God's grace, and make living a whole lot more complicated and hard then it should be. Right now I'm trying ever so hard to choose life, love, laughter. I encourage anyone reading this to at least try it, it's so much better.
8. Knowing God
Sure, I don't know Him as well as I desire to, but my journey to know God has been the most amazing, fulfilling, fruitful, joyful thing I have ever experienced. And the greatest thing about this is that He, the God of the universe, has actually been hurting for me, loving me and gently pulling me toward Him when I tried to push Him away every chance I got. Not only do I have the privilege of knowing Him, I have the (what can I call it??) explicit joy of knowing that He has known and cared for me before I existed. I have never understood why He did what He did for me, but I'll tell you one thing, it makes me want to sing for joy! Loving life and being happy is so much easier when you accept God's blessings and keep trying to know Him better.

5. Laughing.
My friends and I sit in a circle in the middle of nowhere under the *amazing* stars that God made and tell our funny stories. We laugh till tears start rolling down our cheeks and we are rolling around in the dirt holding our stomachs. Every time I see my best friends I burst into laughter. I can't explain it, it must be from the joy that comes from knowing them and knowing that they love me. I pray that God would help me to fully appreciate them and bless them as much as they have blessed me.
6. Flowers from younger brothers.
They make my day. Not long after Levi learned to put words together he went outside and picked me flowers and came towards me looking very proud of himself and said "For you." God has blessed me with such sweet siblings and I forget to remember that sometimes.

3. Children. So innocent, so trusting, so precious.
My baby brother snuggles up to me and quietly asks me to sing "Rock-a-treetop" before bed. How could I refuse? His brown eyes, soft skin and trusting gaze melts my heart immediately. I wonder what it will be like to have children of my own. Such blessings from God.
"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate."
4. Midnight conversations with best friends while gazing at the stars. Seriously, so inspiring, so full of wonder. Out here in the country there are hardly any lights and the stars are amazing. We spent hours this week sitting and looking at the stars and I saw three shooting stars!
"He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. Great is our Lord, and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite."

Day Two
2. Peace. Peace that fills my heart. The knowledge that I don't have to worry about tomorrow, He's got it covered. "Be still and know that I am God." I think of the word "know" in that sentence as a verb; I challenge anyone who may be reading this to sit down, away from the noise and busyness of the world, and dwell on the fact that He is God.
So, blessing number two is peace. I praise You God for giving Your children peace that can stand the force of any trial.

1000 Blessings
I'm going to start counting my blessings, and I have the perfect number one:
1. Suffering
Whaaa? Yes. Suffering is one of the greatest blessings in my life. That doesn't mean I like it, because I don't, but it's part of this world and strangely it's one of the things that has brought me closest to God. And once we are in heaven we won't have the chance to be in utter despair and cry out to God in our sorrow, or at least that's what tradition says.
So for the suffering I praise and thank You God, help me to continue to praise You in my darkest hours I pray.
